A Day of Traveling

Today was finally the day. I made the very very VERY long trip from Jacksonville, FL to Juneau, AK. I literally flew across the country today.

Literally. (source: Google Maps)
It took three different flights to get here. I started in Jacksonville, flew to Dallas, then flew to Seattle, then finally flew to Juneau. I'm done with the flying part (thank goodness!) and I just have to get through the 4.5 hour ferry ride tomorrow and I'll finally be in Haines at the American Bald Eagle Foundation! I'm spending the night in Juneau because the ferry doesn't leave until the morning, but so far I'm liking the new scenery!

Shoot. I wish I was spending more than one night here. Just look at that bed!
Some super cool looking mountains that I saw sticking up out of the clouds as we made our descent to Juneau
I'm so excited to be here! I still don't think that it's really hit me that I'll be spending the next 3 months in Alaska, but I'm sure it'll turn out to be wonderful :)

I am going to miss my super awesome family though :( (my sister, Caitlin, not pictured here)
